White “Goddess” Said Black Women Cheapen Beauty

Warning! The message below may be triggering for some. The goal here is not to shame or demean any woman of ANY race, but to point out something I’ve observed.

Last night I received a response to a comment I made on Adaeze Sherleen Ilo’s article titled “Black Women Voted Most Undesirable Women To Date”. Here is what the commenter said:

Thankfully, Medium or the author deleted her response.

Does a black woman’s beauty need refining?

This person was responding to a comment I made to uplift black women and encourage black women to try and remain positive no matter the circumstances we face. It was a positive comment. I also mentioned that black women need to clean up the Jezebel/side chick antics because it is not very becoming.

Here is my question though.

What would prompt a person to say what White “goddess” said? What would make women like her assume that black women’s natural beauty and aura needs any refinement?
