Sound Advice For Dealing With Work Wives
Tales of the work wife are met with criticisms, but how do we deal with them?
I was reading Dr. Psych Mom’s article called, “I Hate My Husband’s Work Wife”. It is a letter from a concerned wife whose husband’s young, attractive coworker keeps texting late at night. Dr. Psych Mom advises that although the late-night texts are wrong, perhaps the wife is the one with the issue, being as the husband already labeled her “paranoid” and could the wife have possibly come from a family where infidelity was commonplace?
The comment section was balanced.
Some women confessed to being work wives because it was fun, while some said the wives must be lacking something for her man to welcome attention from “some young thang” in the first place.
Still, you have women who even went so far as to say placing restrictions on who your man can be friends with can be infantilizing and very limiting.
What is a work wife?
A work wife is a woman whom your husband deals with at work. She pretty much gets the same attention you get from him(maybe more so), she gets all the perks without the ring.
Some say this term is derogatory towards women.
