I Was Fired Recently…Should I Feel Like This?

Recently I was relieved of my duties, and it became the most interesting time of my life — here’s the tea☕

I knew this day was approaching. The internal voice warning me, “Your time here is nearly up,” had been sounding for several months, but another voice was also growing within me. In today’s new world, the way I’m handling being dismissed from a company that couldn’t organize itself is quite different from how I would have coped with it 15 or more years ago.

From praise to demoralization

Three years ago, I started a work-from-home job in claims adjusting with a company that was excellent for temporary employment. I consistently clocked in and out on time without any adherence issues. Over a year ago, I secured a permanent role, diligently attending meetings, taking notes, and keeping up with updates to excel in my job.

However, this year, my performance evaluations began to decline. As recently as December 2023, I received excellent evaluations and maintained perfect attendance, excelling in my role.
